Meet Our Coaches

All of our coaches are registered PSA and USFS members and have completed the required background checks, and safe sport training necessary to coach figure skating in the US.

Teresa Yuengert

NBSST team owner, program administrator & head coach. Teresa has over 20 years as USFS & PSA registered/accredited coach for synchronized skating & singles skating. She is a former regional and sectional competitor in singles and synchronized skating. She brings a wealth of experience to our team in synchronized team choreography, moves in the field, and freestyle.

Teresa is also a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, specializing in obstetric sonography.

Gail Peterson

Gail has over 20 years of experience teaching group, private and semi-private lessons. She has USFS Gold Ice Dance, Intermediate Freestyle, 4th Figure Tests passed.
Gail was a competitive figure skater for 12 years with the Pittsfield Figure Skating Club of Massachusetts. She brings a wealth of experienceto the team with choreography of skating programs, teaching moves in the field and freestyle. She is currently in her fifth season of coaching with the National Blade, and will coach primarily with our Pre juvenile and Synchro Skills teams.  

Katrina Chu

Former member of the National Blades Intermediate line, Katrina has 4 years experience  as a national synchronized skating competitor on the University of Delaware Collegiate team. She has worked primarily with our Open Juvenile and Intermediate lines over the past three years. She has a Bachelors degree in exerise science, with a minor in strength and conditioning from the University of Delaware, Katrina is planning a career as a Physical Therapist in the near future.

Marina Provenzano

Former member of the National Blades Intermediate line, Marina has a wealth of experience with our beginner, Pre Juvenile, Open Juvenile and Intermediate teams. Marina also holds a degree in research biology and works full time in that field
